Always a good time at the pines. For those of you who have never been, the runs are contained to the main roads/trails through the New Jersey Pine Barrens, but the water table allows the roads to flood very easily. We've had 4 days of rain, so the pines were nice and wet. So only three trucks showed: me, Rich Van with his girlfriend Vicki, and JDevil, our host and the only one who really knows what the hell he is doing out in the Pines...LOL. (DINO)
Lots of wet sand, mud & water on Saturday. I just realized, we all had mud tires on. Dino on 35" BFG Muds, JD on new 30" BFG Muds (he has a l/s in both axles along with the winch!) & myself on 32" TSL radials. We met up with some of the original offroaders, horses. There was some sort of rally that even had an old gal on a buggy. Very nice folks & we entertained them once JD found some deep ruts & got high centered. The winching was the usual GREAT teamwork. Dino told JD the puddle was "easy" & helped pull the winch cable thru the slop, I had a treesaver strap & JD got out pretty easily. Around noon, Dino made a comment on the CB along our quest to find mud, "Hmm, that puddle is beautiful!". I laughed since I was 50 yards back & couldn't see it yet. I changed my opinion on that adjective after a few spins thru it. Dino's 35s were almost under while he took a few ruts that seemed to have been made by a large fullsize. I was taking the ruts at a 45 deg. angle & bouncing all over the place. Vicky & I were laughing SO hard & had a blast! I'm trying to finish the film so I can see if I got any good shots. Thanks guys! (RICH VAN)
