On the F250 yesterday I started to hear a strange noise at start up and a little at shut down. When I turned the key and was waiting for the glow plugs to heat there was a high pitch squeal. Then it shut off just before the glow plug light turned off. Then at shut down it was much quicker but still the same sound. Before I heard a noise during the time but not so high pitched. Wondering if it is an injector pump or maybe something with the glow plugs. Any ideas? Anything to worry about or is this just normal. Later in the say it got quieter (like “normal”)? Just the first time I had it sequel like that.
