What does the 5.4 superduty motor take for an oil change...... with replacing the filter. My brother can't seem to find out if it takes 6 or 7 quarts with a dry filter. I told him to do 6 1/2 quarts :D

6 quarts is the spec, the 1/2 might put it over the hashed area a little.

Depends The newer 3valve 5.4L takes 7 with filter:cool:

Of course you can always go with the old standby method of figuring out how much oil it takes.....
Use the Dipstick :hehe:

Yeah, thats what I told him. He claims that the dipstick is too long and rubs the sides of the tube when he pulls it out giving him a bad level reading. I think he's a nut but I asked for him anyway.
The manual said 6 quarts. He just wasn't sure if that was with or without the filter. In the end plus or minus a 1/2 quart isn't going to make that big of a deal. He's just anal.
