Yeah, I know there's badlands, redbird, and a couple other places "close" by, but i was wonderin if there are any privately owned lands that wheelers are welcomed around indy? Just curious, I dont want to have to drag my junk all the way to attica ever other weekend after the swap is done :ohyeah:

I just offroaded infront of my building here on meridian! and a cop stopped me and asked what I was doing. Some ass head blocked the whole entrance to the office here in indy and everyone was sitting outside wondering what to do. I popped the curb and ran up the walkway up a hill to the front door and parked in my garage.

he then gave the ass head a ticket and towed the car.

It was a long day and I was ready to go home.

other then that I don't know of anything besdies private land here in indy.

Yeah, i was kinda hoping to find private land, with cool owners. I'd be willing to give them a some money ever year to wheel on their land, sign the insurance wavier, and even help maintain or build new trails.

I don't doubt it. I order all my stuff through chubby. I don't trust the shop there either. Used to deal a lot with them when a friend of mine worked there. They have one tech worth a shit.

i was looking at some maps today and there are some fire roads and un-maintiained roads down in the morgan-monroe state forest...dont know if they are open to trucks, or if they are anything more than just a gravel road, but it might be soemthing to look into.....

Didn't Taxx (a long time ago) say that him and his dad use to go on those? I'd be interested in finding out if they are open to the public, or if access was possible at all.

I'd like to know if it would be possible to build some trails down around bloomington/bedford in those old abandoned quary's...woudl the DNR control those areas???

I just emailed the DNR about it...what the hell right?

IIRC those roads were just recently closed to vehicular traffic because people didn't stay on the "roads" ask Will over on TRS he lives down there and used to go to Combs "Road" quite a bit before they closed them...Not only that Code Attica is closer to you than Brown County:dunno:

Yeah it is...but the outlaws live in spencer, stowing my explorer there for a week or two would make it easier.

I'd like to find something close by. I know there are places to go "muddin" but i don't care for that. I think there is a "woods" somewhere around that a club here used...but that site hasn't been updated for 5 years so I doubt they'd be too responsive.

Good luck Code. Just like Dale said, people did not stay to the roads and DNR kept pretty busy chasing people off. Nothing was well marked down there so without a map you had no idea what was a road and what was a trail some yahoo blazed. Will is the one with the current answers though.

Like Dale said. Attica is the closest thing to you right now, unless you find someone with private land. I think your pissing up a rope though.

Balls Deep/Bedford Boys have been given some special access around the bedford area, but from what I understand, they like to keep it members only to keep traffic down and riff raff out. My dad lives in the Judah area and I've done a little exploring around out there, but it all seems like private land.

I've been down Comb's Rd with Will a couple times, and you could tell it was being abused there.
