I have heard that there are different types of filters for the AOD. It seems that I recall some info about some of the truck applications having a filter that sits deeper in the pan to help prevent air from getting drawn up into the pump. If this "extended" filter exists, where's the best place to pick one up at? I have a feeling that the boys at the "Zone" won't have a clue as to what I'd be talking about.

The 4x4 models all had a mini sump in the center of the pan.
The 4x4 filter has a tube that sticks down into the mini sump.

4x2s all have a smooth bottom pan without the sump.
Therefore the pancake looking filter.

Actually picked up a new Art Carr pan off of ebay. Got it cheap too! It is a deep pan, and the filter that came with it has an extended tube coming off of it to reach deeper into the pan. It will go on this spring when I go through the motor.
